Have you seen folks recently using their iPhones to hover over credit card readers to make purchases? Apple Pay, Apple’s mobile payments tool, is being used by them. Apple Pay is an example of an NFC contactless payment, which is a method of making purchases using your smartphone.
Because NFC payments, like Apple Pay, are dynamically encrypted, they are incredibly safe. Apple’s fingerprint technology, Touch ID, provides additional security for Apple Pay. Additionally, NFC payments are quite practical. When compared to EMV chip card payments, which can often take longer to process, they are processed extremely quickly, in just a few seconds. It makes sense that more merchants are accepting Apple Pay.
In fact, more than two million stores now accept Apple Pay.
