You probably know that Instagram Stories are an excellent tool for engaging your Instagram followers. However, with Stories lasting just 24 hours, it appears that creating material visible for such a short amount of time is a lot of labor.
This is where the highlights from your Instagram Stories come in. Instagram Highlights enable you to keep and classify your Stories on your profile so that new and old followers may continue to read and interact with prior Stories after the initial 24 hours have passed.
Throughout this post, we’ll go over what Instagram Stories Highlights are, how they operate, and how you can use them for your company.
Instagram Highlights are a collection of saved Stories on your profile page. If you use Instagram daily, you’ve most likely seen those Stories at the top of your feed. Unlike ordinary Instagram Stories, which are deleted after 24 hours, Highlights will remain on your Instagram page until you remove them.
Highlights function similarly to ordinary Stories. The only difference is that you will no longer be able to know who watched your Story once 24 hours have passed. Instead, you will see the overall number of viewers on each Story Highlight. You may add up to 100 movies or photographs in a single highlighted category, but you can create as many Highlights as you like.
Instagram Highlights is a basic feature at its foundation, yet using it may be difficult. For example, you could need clarification about creating custom covers or erasing highlights that you no longer desire. But don’t worry. This post will lead you through making and deleting Instagram Highlights.
If you still need to get Instagram Highlights, you may make some by using your current story or previous ones. That, of course, implies that the archiving feature must be enabled. It’s generally enabled by default, but here’s how to double-check and activate the Stories Archive if necessary:
- Tap the Menu symbol in the top right-hand corner of your profile.
- Select Settings > Privacy > Story from the drop-down menu.
- Scroll down to Save story to archive and turn it on.
Once archiving is enabled, you may create your first Highlight. Here’s how you make your first Instagram Highlight by including your current story:
- Navigate to your Instagram story.
- At the bottom, tap the Highlight symbol.
- Tap New in the Add to Highlights pop-up.
- Enter a name for the highlight and, if desired, update the cover.
- Finally, press Add, followed by Done.
You may also make an Instagram Highlight out of a story that you uploaded a while ago. Here’s how it’s done:
- Tap New from your profile.
- Select the stories you wish to include in this new Highlight and press Next.
- Give your Highlight a name and change the cover.
- Finally, choose to Add and Done.
That’s all! Your first Instagram Highlight has now been added to your profile.
Assume you have an Instagram Highlight that is topic-specific rather than based on a certain location and time. This may be a collection of amusing images of your pet or a collection of your favorite street art from across the world. In these circumstances, keep adding fresh tales to an existing Highlight. This is how you do it:
- Launch the Highlight.
- More may be found at the bottom right-hand corner.
- From the menu, select Edit Highlight.
- Choose a story.
- Tap to choose the stories you wish to include in this Highlight.
- When you’re finished, tap Done.
Voilà! The new story is now available.
Instagram is expanding in terms of both its user base and features. Instagram Highlights is one of those new things you may have missed when they first appeared. Instagram enjoys stealing the greatest concept ideas from other applications, and highlights are a prime example.
