Apple AirPods are one of the handiest pieces of audio technology available today. They are wireless, tiny, and simple to use. While they are compatible with any Bluetooth device, they work perfectly with any iPhone running iOS 10 or later. Are AirPods Waterproof?
There are no waterproof AirPods, and the only ones that are water-resistant are the AirPods (3rd generation) or AirPods Pro. Water-resistant AirPods or AirPods Pro should still be avoided on purpose, although they should withstand the occasional splash. The original AirPods or AirPods are neither waterproof nor water-resistant, so avoid getting them wet.
The same can be said with any AirPods charging case. Despite what certain websites, such as MacRumors, claim, the MagSafe charging case that comes with the third-generation AirPods or AirPods Pro is not waterproof. How To Remove Water From Airpods?
If you accidentally submerge your AirPods in water, Apple suggests drying them with a microfiber towel. Then, on the fabric, lay both the earphones and the charging case upside down. The charging case should be facing down and open. Allow at least four hours before putting them through their paces.

- The first guideline is to maintain your cool. You must act quickly because panicking will save time. Your first idea may be to find a method to let the water out, but you’ll quickly discover that opening the AirPods is impossible.

- You may also use a blow dryer to hasten the drying of your AirPods. It will quickly dry the outside of the earphones, but it may not be as effective if there is water inside the earbuds. Cotton swabs can remove water if you don’t have a drying cloth or towel.
What If Your AirPods Still Don’t Work?
If you’re lucky, your AirPods will start working normally again. However, if they become soaked in water, they may not turn on, or the sound quality may suffer. You can’t help but put them to the test and see what happens.
The good news is that if one of your AirPods breaks, you can replace it. It happens frequently because water does not penetrate equally on both sides. However, if both AirPods stop working, you’ll need to buy a new set.
What Happened to the Charging Case?
If your AirPods were in their charging case when they became wet, the case most likely kept them dry. On the other hand, the charging case may be damaged and should be repaired. After removing the AirPods, close the case. Wrap your charging case with silica gel and set it aside for a few days to dry.

- Keep your AirPods away from damp surfaces.
- When it starts to rain, put your AirPods away.
- Keep your AirPods away from other people’s beverages.
- Before placing your garments in the washer, check your pockets.
- Keep your AirPods in case you don’t need them.
- To keep the water-resistant seals intact, avoid dropping or smashing your AirPods.
- Remove any makeup, perfume, sun lotion, or other items that have gotten on your AirPods right away.
