Motorola is said to be developing the Moto Watch 200, the device’s replacement, almost a year after the Moto Watch 100 was introduced. The smartwatch’s design and packaging image were discovered on the FCC database earlier this month.

These photographs make it evident that the smartwatch will have a rectangular display, as opposed to its predecessor’s circular dial. Recently, a well-known tipster named SnoopyTech sent out promotional photographs of the Moto Watch 200 that show a circular display.

It is likely that Motorola is developing two designs for the smartwatch, despite the FCC’s disclosure of a square dial. This won’t be a novel approach because companies like OnePlus (Nord Watch) and Amazfit have done it before.
On the back of the circular wristwatch is the brand name “Moto Watch 200” as well as the FCC ID (MOSWZ200) of its squarer sibling. The spherical variant is said to have unique wireless charging in addition to a heart rate sensor and adjustable watch straps. The wristwatch is also visible attached to a cable charger in the picture, which may or may not be a USB Type-C.
Similar to the Moto Watch 100, the Moto Watch 200 was rumored to launch with an aluminium case, Bluetooth LE, and GPS functionality. The smartwatch will, unsurprisingly, also be water resistant to up to 5 ATM. Official marketing materials indicate that Motorola is extremely close to delivering the product, despite the fact that a launch date has not yet been made public. The Moto Watch 200’s FCC certification confirms that it will also be made available in North America.
