All Indians Can Now Have Access to Amazon Prime Video’s Mobile Edition, Which Costs Rs. 599 Per Year

Amazon Prime Video Mobile Version is rolled out in India on Monday as a cheaper version of the company’s video streaming service. The e-commerce giant, which initially announced Prime Video Mobile Edition for Airtel subscribers last year in cooperation with the telecom operator, has expanded access to the plan to all users in India, permitting them to subscribe to Amazon Prime Video with a mobile-only plan.

It offers a less expensive version of its streaming subscription service for Rs. 599 annually. According to Amazon, the mobile version would only provide access for one user and one smartphone.

According to Amazon, subscribers would have access to every video accessible on the service in standard definition (SD) on a single smartphone and the service will be accessible for a single user. Users won’t have access to multiple accounts, and they won’t be able to stream content at up to 4K quality on computers or smart TVs, unlike the complete Prime Video experience that comes with an Amazon Prime subscription.

The company’s statement comes as Amazon works to increase access to the mobile-only plan it unveiled in cooperation with Airtel last year. This plan, which costs Rs. 89 for 28 days of access to the same content as normal Prime Video members, also includes 6GB of data. At the time, Airtel customers could also choose a Rs. 299 package that included 1.5GB of data per day for 28 days in addition to access to Prime Video Mobile Edition.
